Optique Vision Care Partners with First Lady – Mrs. Arya Ali

Vision plays a vital role in communication among the deaf community to interpret sign language, and explore the world around them. In aid of serving the deaf community, Optique Vision Care partnered with Mrs. Arya Ali – First Lady of Guyana at our MovieTowne location on December 20th, 2021 to “Give the gift of sight” to children and adults of Guyana Deaf Association.
During this exercise, 80 comprehensive eye examinations were done, of which 48 refractive errors were diagnosed. Others who needed further screening and ophthalmology intervention were referred to our Head Office at 350 #EastStreet (Opposite Georgetown Public Hospital) to undergo additional tests and follow up consultations.
On the 25th of March, 2022 Optique Vision Care and the First Lady’s Office handed over 48 pairs of spectacles free of cost to those individuals suffering from refractive errors.
The project team consisted of three Optometrists and our Medical Director / Ophthalmologist, Dr. Shailendra Sugrim.
