The Iridex IQ 577 laser at Optique Vision Care is used by our consultant ophthalmologists to conduct:
- Retinal photocoagulation
- Panretinal photocoagulation and
- Intravitreal endophotocoagulation, of vascular and structural abnormalities of the retina and choroid in order to treat conditions in both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye.
These include:
- Proliferative and non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy
- Choroidal neovascularization
- Branch retinal vein occlusion
- Age-related macular degeneration
- Retinal tears and detachments
- Retinopathy of prematurity
- Macular edema
- Lattice degenerationThe Iridex IQ 577 is also used to conduct Iridotomies and iridoplasties in angle closure glaucoma, and trabeculoplasties in open angle glaucoma.
