On May 21, 2022, Optique Vision Care (OVC) partnered with Empower Guyana to provide free eye examinations for the girls at the Haururani Girls Home (HGH) located on the Linden Soesdyke Highway.
During this exercise, 14 girls ages 5 to 17 were examined by our Optometrists, Claudia Gravesande and Madonna Narine, of which 3 girls were diagnosed with refractive errors & were prescribed spectacles.
Others who needed further screening and ophthalmology intervention were referred to the company’s Head Office located at 350 East Street (Obliquely opposite Georgetown Public Hospital) to undergo additional tests and follow up consultations.
